Advice on How You Can Start Your Email Marketing Campaign

By: Darren Williger

Email is a quick, simple and cheap way that you can use to promote your business in this day and age of technological advancements. Regardless of the service or the products that are being offered, you can easily use email marketing to reach a whole lot of customers quite easily.

If you own an online business today, these are the three major forms of email marketing that you can use to market your business:

Newsletter Marketing:

Everyone owns a newsletter these days. Whether you’re a vet, dentists or a pet store owner, there are different newsletters that meet the various requirements and needs of people who are subscribers to your service.

Using newsletter marketing is a terrific way that you can use to promote whatever business or service it is that you provide. You provide valuable resources to your customers and clientele in simple format that also highlights your business too. Other email marketing methods may be deleted by recipients of these emails before they even look at them but most people tend to read newsletters. This gives you a chance to advertise your business over and over again in a marketing style that isn’t really seen for what it is.

Bulk E-Mail Marketing:

This is one of the less favorite methods of e-mail marketing and it is also one of the less successful as well. It is a simple and cheap way to reach a huge number of potential customers but it almost always looks like SPAM. This means that most recipients tend to delete these sorts of messages without really reading them. There’s absolutely nothing wrong with sending bulk messages to people whom you have obtained their permission to send messages. Bulk mailing however uses purchased email lists to contact a lot of people with messages that are more of advertising than they contain information. Using this sort of tactic may destroy the goodwill and reputation among people who may be interested in learning more about your business and what else you may have to offer them.

Opt-In E-Mail Marketing:

This is quite similar to bulk email in that the messages that are to be sent are distributed to a large number of email recipients. Opt-in email marketing is quite different however; it uses a business directory that is made up of carefully collated email address which a company has taken time to obtain. Each recipient has stated that they are interested in the message that you have to offer and has approved the delivery of such messages. This sort of email marketing is what is used by a majority of e-commerce establishments in order to send out information to their clientele. The information dispersed may include anything from important announcements to updates, discounts and special offers. Regardless of whether you maintain an online retail store that sends out weekly discounts coupons to your customers or if you’re an organization trying to send your members notification of an upcoming deadline, opt-in email marketing can deliver your message promptly and much more cheaper than standard e-mail marketing tools. The best thing that can be done here is to have a solid client base that you stay regularly in touch with. These people can then forward valuable information to potential customers by forwarding these emails to anyone else that they know.
