Affiliate marketing can be an excellent source of income. It depends on the effort and commitment of the affiliate. I will try to generally provide the step by step affiliate marketing guide which has worked for me, but i will not be too specific because it will be too long, this will only give you a general idea of how to manage doing with less mistakes. Before starting that guide, i want to warn those who are going to start and those who are struggling in this field that you do not give up that easily. You won't know whether you can finish a race if you quit the race in the halfway.

• Find Your Market Niche First Niche is a group of people who has particular interests. Warning! you can not judge or analyze in this stage. What you have to do is find the niche, it does not matter if there is money in that niche or not.

  Jot down more than one niche.

  Tip: When you are just starting, it is easier to choose a niche, which resembles your own interest. There are many sources you can depend on to give you ideas, like Ebay, yahoo-buzz, and many more or in the real life you can try magazine, TV, and radio (just pay attention to the advertisement).

• Research Your Niche This part is quite difficult because people often give up after stepping in this stage. What do you want to find in this research? you will want to know are the niches you chose have money and ready to buy. Here comes the judging and analyzing time, you have to know how desperate that niche is.

  Research is normally done through forum of the related niche. (you can search on google by typing "your niche + forum", when you find no forums about the particular niche, it could literally mean that the niche is not hot at all) Ebay, Yahoo groups, MSN groups, and google groups are good places to do research. And one more important tip, do research on google trends.

• Find the Products I assume the research is going well. You can find products in several networks like:

  - Clickbank
  - Commission junction
  - Linkshare
  - Paydotcom
  - shareasale
  - saleflurry

  Or on Google you can type "industry name + affiliate program"

• Keyword Research Keyword is simply the term people are typing on search engine to find something. So in this case, you have to be the niche. You have to know what they are thinking. Tip: Choose long tail keyword. for example instead of make money, choose how to make money at home online.

• Choose your path of the promotion There are currently two popular promotion methods, such as: Article Marketing and Pay-Per-Click Advertising. Choose one and stick to it until you dominate it before moving to another method. 

I keep the last two steps very short because people often do mistake in the first three steps. Some tend to ignore the first two steps and go straight to the third step. That is a big mistake.
